Depends on why do you want to run visualcode, if you want to learn C#, tough luck, you're probably going to have a lot of problems because you'll have to do a fair bit of research to run it outside of it.
Otherwise, it's a literal non-problem, just use a regular text editor and terminal. Even for my C# classes I've done everything on a Linux machine that had 2*1.6ghz cores and like 4gb of ram or something, it ran windows xp and some old version of linux because it wasn't powerful enough to run anything more modern than that. It wasn't exactly the most fun experience but when it was running linux it wasn't too painful.

Depends on what you mean, like do I have to use terminal? Yea, probably, it's just easier to type in a few commands than anything else. Could I brick it? Probably if I tried hard enough.
Would I brick it by accident? Highly unlikely. Does it have everything I would want for daily use? Pretty much, and I've had less issues installing it than on windows too. But then there's games and you just cannot play some games on linux which basically throws everything out the window for me. If I didn't play games, or if I didn't play newer titles at all, I would just switch 100%.

There will always be some jank, I don't think it's possible to avoid if you have as much control as you do in Linux. I feel like the way it is solved in my and a few other countries is the best route, prostitution per se is not illegal, but pimping, whorehouses and advertising it is illegal and punishable.
I don't think making it wholly illegal will solve the problem, it's just going to make it go underground, just like trying to ban alcohol. And there's a lot of money to be gained by shady people from banning it, so basically, lose-lose scenario.
