thematically they made the human bad guy robotic too BUT in a bad way. hes meant to be a meat puppet for the ai and he comes across so uninvested, lacking intensity or any personality. imo the worst villain by far
the action was more of the same with a lot more chases than usual. i wasnt as impressed by the "big" stunt as in previous movies, and the ending cgi felt awkward too. one of the weaker mission impossibles but not a bad movie, i still love tom cruise / 10

Recently I've begun reading Kim Stanley Robinson's "The Ministry For The Future" which is a book about an international department set up to combat climate change, except.. well.. no country really keeps to the promises they make, just like reality. So instead they essentially become eco-terrorists, very based. The last snippet I read was them liberating a crew of a fishing trawler, blowing it up with the captain on board and leaving the crew on a liferaft off the coat with the message "No more fishing."
It's.. not high art. Robinson doesn't write novels for prose, he writes to express his scientific understanding and ideas about the future, about environmentalism, about what society could become. They read more like "what ifs" than proper stories. The last novel I read of his, 2312, really doesn't have a plot, the plot exists to shuttle the characters around the solar system so robinson can explore ideas about 300 years in the future.

tldr: im very opinionated and emacs lets me do what i want
you know how there are these second brain/zettlekasten note taking systems (like Obsidian, Roam, Notion)? the ones all the harvard/oxford-graduate-productivity youtubers shill? the point of them is to find relationships between your notes so you can see new patterns and gain insights from your notes (as if its a brain). the way they do is by MANUALLY linking and tagging related notes (and they have 1000s of notes) but to me thats so not worth the mental effort
so with emacs i use a package org-similarity that just goes through the notes, parses them and finds the similarities without me having to link or tag anything. i also use mindmaps a lot since i find them useful when learning. well theres also a package for that embeds maps from excalidraw.com into your notes AND i have written code that generates keywords from it so it gets picked up by org-similarity too. i have lots of similar custom code for learning and writing and i feel superior to everyone else

My character, an artifical intelligence mind copy of my original character, was on a space station to try and kidnap an android for a megacorporation. The job went to shit, and he eventually tracked down his "partner" and turned him over to station security for a ticket off that rock. In space, the corporate pickup messaged me demanding I let them board for a "diagnosis scan" since I failed in my job. I called him a bottomfeeder and slingshsot myself around an asteroid to escape despite his ship being faster.
Anyway, that didn't go over well, turns out the mega corporations didn't like me going rogue, and essentially made my AI character kill on site, so now he can't go back home, BUT he's got some blackmail against the megacorps, and he's setup a plan to work with his allies to gather more evidence, until they've got a loaded gun ready to swing the sets in their favour.
My 2 paragraphs really don't do it justice, it was a roller coaster from oh-shit i'm so fucked to realising that I actually hold a lot of power and can turn the situation to my advantage with some more work.

it's not that, it's that, valorant is a competitive shooter, by it's nature. There's deathmatch game modes, but the main mode is a 5v5, "balanced" experience.
If you have someone on your team goofing off, you're literally just wasting your own time, because you'll lose and it isn't your fault at all. The BEST valorant games were close matches, ones where I felt I actually had an impact, where the team discussed ideas and executed plans well.
I had a 3v5 game, where 2 of our team quit, and me, my friend, and the random guy we were with took advantage of the enemy team getting cocky and rushing us to bring a 2-8 game back to something like 10-13, we still lost, but dam it was fun to actually PLAY valorant
The only games I feel anything besides disappointment are the games where I go 32/10 and dominate the other team to the point that their morale is crushed and defeat is imminent if not already upon them

well thats because in vanilla, the low level zones you populate are either zones you have to move through to get to higher level zones and/or places they also have things to do in
in the following expansions like tbc and wotlk, everything moves to different continents and other capital cities with more ammenities and services
theres little reason to hang around in stormwind when you can hang around in dalaran (plus other things that actually do warrant complaints like flying mounts taking out almost all chances of meeting people in the open world)
actually, ontop of PlatinumWoW, this guy also makes incredibly high quality lore videos (arguably even better but its a matter of taste)
