That one is pretty easy, he's looking for a submissive female (just like a dog is submissive to its master).
I dunno about the hermit line, never really thought about it much, whether it's some literary allegory or just a comparison to actual hermits.

#claude how do i cope?
To cope, try: * Identify your stressors. * Practice relaxation techniques (deep breathing, meditation). * Engage in physical activity. * Maintain a healthy diet and sleep schedule. * Connect with supportive people. * Seek professional help if needed. * Practice self-compassion. * Engage in hobbies and enjoyable activities. * Set realistic goals. * Break down large tasks. * Practice mindfulness. * Limit exposure to stressors when possible. * Challenge negative thoughts. * Focus on what you can control.

I was just having a bit of a laugh at sturdy admins expense, I've looked at the code a bit and while I didn't have enough will to test it and host it properly I also had hard time getting through it anyway. I do not have much go experience though. Well that's an understatement, I do not have any go experience.
>>104714 #
Yea that's what I would do if I wanted to host meguca nowadays, this or maybe looking at another fork that's maintained, there's maybe 1 or 2 though at best.
>>104716 #
Anonymous
>>104714 #
>>104715 #
i think his fork has a handful of features that this one doesn't like the front page and rate limiting
plus he had something funky going on with the images being hosted on another domain
>>104717 #>>104743 #
Anonymous
>>104716 #
>front page
It's in here, it's just overridden by the direct link to the latest thread.
>rate limiting
Probably pretty trivial to implement or reimplement, I've seen some code in here that could be used as a template.
>images hosted on another domain
Don't think I've seen that, they seem to be hosted same way they're hosted here, I think through the CDN?
>>104718 #
Anonymous
>>104717 #
no i meant the front page with the "popular images today"
also before the images were hosted on sturdychan.su or something but now it's on the same domain
>>104719 #
Anonymous
>>104718 #
>no i meant the front page with the "popular images today"
Yea, that feature is I think a default meguca feature and nekomin just overridden it with the redirect. I remember there was a front page at one point, long time ago.
>>104720 #>>104726 #
Anonymous
>>104719 #
no, the front page just went to /all/ by default, im pretty sure the popular images today thing is a 2chen feature
>>104721 #
Anonymous
>>104720 #
Actually maybe you're right, I'm just dumb. Anyway I would have to compile the original meguca to check and that's a bit of work.
Anonymous
it seems to work just fine
Anonymous
>>104719 #
>Yea, that feature is I think a default meguca feature and nekomin
It's not
Anonymous
>>104728 #
GPLv3, I think so although I don't remember how GPLv3 propagates
a better question would be does it matter if nobody cares to enforce it? not really, though maybe you could make somebodys life harder if you tried to get the open source foundation involved
open source does depend a lot on the honor code for small codebases that are not used by many people
>>104731 #
Anonymous
>>104728 #
oi mate do you have a license to fork that meguca
Anonymous
>>104728 #
>>104729 #
So from what I've gathered, the backend does not need to be open source since you're running it on your own machine BUT
whatever you distribute to users to run in their own browsers (the front end) DOES need to be open sourced

In reality though, yeah nobody will be around to enforce it esp since the creator of this code pretty much abandoned it.
>>104732 #
Anonymous
>>104731 #
any reason for the server/client split? just curious really since I thought that the license, as in GPLv3 just applies wholesale
>>104733 #
Anonymous
>>104732 #
yeah, the whole point of gpl code is that users can control and modify whatever code runs on THEIR machine
so the rule is basically, if you distribute machine code, you must also distribute source code
that wouldn't apply to a backend because nobody but you is running the backend code
>>104734 #
Anonymous
>>104733 #
that makes sense, sounds consistent with the whole open software basics that I know of
that's interesting though since I don't know how well you could decouple the client from the server here, like there are "server" and "client" folders in source but it's probably not as easy as distributing just the "client" folder

>>104734 #
oh, thats easy
so the client comes as a web bundle which is just one file containing all the code which you wouldn't be able to read BUT
you can also add source maps which contain the original files
so if you go into the sources tab right now you would be able to see all the code that was running in your browser

thats how you would comply
