the human brain is wired to not do things which will disfavour you in the eyes of your fellow man and to avoid shame as much as possible but going through the discomfort of learning social skills, especially if you were unfortunate enough to not learn them early or to lose the ability to at a later point, is just too much to ask for some individuals
i think stuff like that is part of the reason why some people struggle so much with learning to talk to girls with explicit attraction in the intentmyself included, because of the discomfort you need to go through to push over the first hurdles

I think lacking social skills is a temporary condition. I blame my shitty communication skills on being a shut in and not really talking to many people. Enough time in isolation and your social skills are bound to decline.
I had a phase where I would talk to discord randos for fun and my conversational skills drastically improved in that time to where I could confidently talk like normies.
After I stopped I'm back to being socially inept again. It's like a muscle you need to exercise.

My isse pretty much is always I feel I have not much in common if I start talking to some "random" person.
